Property built in 1877 looks outstanding with modern flush uPVC windows

KAT was delighted to manufacture flush uPVC window frames for this beautiful Old School House, which dates back to 1877. When it was built, it would have been fitted with hand-crafted timber windows, shaped to sit perfectly within the natural curves of the stone. Whilst timber windows add a certain charm to a building, the downside is that they do need to be carefully maintained with regular cleaning and painting to ensure they continue to look good and perform well.

KAT’s Kraftsman flush casement windows are manufactured to accurately replicate timber flush windows, so they can be the ideal solution for sensitive period buildings such as this stone School House. Every Kraftsman window is hand-crafted with scribed and milled butt joints with strong mechanically jointed flush sashes, able to withstand 4.3 kN of pressure.

uPVC Flush Casement Windows are ideally suited to modern-day living, with a sleek, contemporary appearance and very little maintenance. Every window is secured by a multi-point locking system, securing points on all four sides of the opening sash, for safety and security. We also fit fire escape hinges on all side opening windows.

KAT’s Flush windows are available in White, Cream, Agate Grey, French Grey or Anthracite grey.  The homeowners chose a contemporary Anthracite Grey on the outside, with a woodgrain effect to add depth and character. On the inside, the windows are White with an attractive sculptured ovolo finish. White with a woodgrain effect is a popular choice, but it is also available with a smooth finish if preferred.

Whilst KAT manufacture regular shaped Kraftsman windows with a square or rectangular frame, they called up sister company Universal Arches to manufacture the arched and gothic shaped frames seen here. JB Installations carried out the survey and installation of the Kraftsman windows on this occasion.
