September brings yet another busy month for KAT windows and bifold doors

We recognise that we have a duty to help protect our planet and we ensure that all our doors have outstanding thermal properties. We always try to source timber from sustainable sources and timber is relatively easy to recycle as it can be turned into woodchip, used to power homes or power plants.
First, timber at the right humidity level is machined to a very tight tolerance on automated precision machinery and then we build every bifold door by hand, crafting every element in our Cheshire workshop. We only employ passionate joiners usually with at least 20 year’s bench experience and they will generally work alone on an individual piece. When they have completed their task, their work is subject to a rigorous quality inspection by a peer.
We recommend Accoya timber which carries a 25 year guarantee, sourced where possible from sustainable sources. Timber is the oldest building material and is still regarded as a luxurious, aesthetically pleasing product. With occasional light maintenance, timber bifold doors will give years of troublefree use.
