Are you thinking of installing a Patio Door in your home, but would like to find out a little more about the differences between Inline Sliding Patio Doors and Lift & Slide Patio Doors.
With both Lift & Slide Patio Doors and Inline Sliding Patio Doors, the sliding panel door operates within its’ own track so no additional space is required outside or inside your home, unlike Bifold Door or French Doors which usually open outwards into your garden.
Aluminium Lift & Slide Patio Doors
If you have a large aperature, KAT’s Aluminium Lift & Slide Patio Doors are ideal as each door panel can be made up to 3 metres high or 2.5 metres wide, so that you can get the most from your view with a wide expanse of glass. Each door is made to your bespoke sizes, to suit your design. They are extremely secure with multi-point locking and offer excellent weather resistance.
KAT carries stock of seven colours and can manufacture your Lift & Slide Patio Door in just two weeks in White, Light Grey, Anthracite Grey, Textured Slate Grey or Black, or in dual colours with White inside your home and either Anthracite Grey or Black outside. Most of the colours have a smooth matt or gloss finish which are extremely popular, but if you’re looking for something a little different, the textured slate grey has a slightly mottled appearance and you can feel the texture when you run your hands across the profile.
How to operate a Lift & Slide Patio Door
We fit a brushed steel Lift & Slide handle to the inside of all doors as standard, with the option of a handle externally if required. Simply turn the brushed steel handle through 180⁰ to raise the door on its track slightly to allow the doors to move smoothly on their stainless steel wheels and tracks. The door panels can be left in a semi-locked position midway along the track for ventilation.
Aluminium Inline Sliding Patio Door
Inline Sliding Patio Doors can be manufactured up to 8 metres wide and are fitted with a stylish cranked bar handle in brushed steel and a 5 point enhanced security lock to the inside of your home, with the option of a bar handle on the outside too. A full range of features can be found here.
KAT design and build all Patio Doors at our factories in Cheshire and Sussex and have factory showrooms where you can visit and see the doors for yourself. All doors are made-to-measure in a choice of 7 colours, so you can match or contrast the finish with the existing doors and windows in your home. View the KAT gallery
Aluminium is a sturdy and durable material, making it ideal for larger doors, whilst requiring very little maintenance. To ensure your door is fitted correctly and continues to perform well, KAT recommends that your door is fitted by an authorised installer, which can either be an installer of your choice, or we can recommend an installer local to you. What’s the difference between a Twin Track and Triple Track Patio Door
With a Twin Track, you decide which door sashes you would like to slide left or right, often with one pane remaining in a fixed position. With a Triple Track, all 3 of the sashes can slide either to the left or the right, allowing greater flexibility as to how the space within your home is utilised. In addition to Aluminium, KAT manufactures uPVC Sliding Patio Doors, made to the highest specification in the industry. They are energy efficient, severe weather tested and carry a 10 year guarantee. Find out more
