Fire Escape Compliant Sash Windows

If the window needs to meet Part B fire egress requirements let us know! Please note minimum sizes do apply (KAT will confirm compliance) and where this option is selected hardware (locking catches, restrictors, etc.) should always be checked with your local planning department. KAT UK have special side hinged Fire Egress windows available (at an extra charge) to allow smaller frames than any other window manufacturer to comply with this part of the Building Regulations.

Side Hinged Fire Escape Option

KAT UK is proud to offer a unique system for our Elegance and Universal sliding Sash Windows that meets the stringent Building Regulations fire escape window requirements (Part ‘B’ England & Wales and Part ‘E’ Scotland & Ireland).

Our side hinged system can allow fully operational sliding sash windows as small as 600mm in either width or height to comply with current UK & Ireland Building Regulations.

All KAT UK’s optional extras and glazing options are available on our special Fire Egress Sliding Sash Windows, however, the easy clean tilt facility is not compatible with this design.
