Outerframe depth - Elegance
Outerframe Depth
Our Elegance VS is available in two front to back frame depths, the standard 146mm frame is ovolo moulded on both the internal and external faces, the slimmer 133mm is flat internally. The integral cill is always 146mm and our standard 146mm outerframe is milled to suit, giving a fitter friendly and much more authentic fully flush integral cill detail.

The Universal sash window is available in plain white PVCu (standard) as well as our popular white woodgrain effect foiled on white profile and cream woodgrain foiled on cream. Golden Oak and Rosewood are also available as fully foiled or Golden Oak on White or Rosewood on White. All standard colours are available on our normal 10 day lead time.

We can also supply our Elegance sash window in any Renolit foiled finish you require including Black and White and Irish Oak (some finishes will be subject to either Minimum Order Quantities or a small surcharge) or painted in any RAL colour; special finishes take 20-30 days but the choice is almost unlimited!

Hardware
Our premium Elegance range includes exclusive cam catches available in gold, white, black, brushed steel or bright chrome and a beautiful pewter finish with suited hardware to match.

Sash lifts
As standard Elegance windows are fitted with one pole ring on the top sash, two key locking cam catches and two sash lifts on the bottom sash (windows under 600mm wide are fitted with single piece hardware only).

Traditional Catches
We also offer traditional timber style ‘hook & claw’ catches in a chrome or brass finish for no extra charge (please note brass does not perfectly match gold finish).
Heavy Duty Cam Catch
Extra Security
An optional upgrade to high security heavy duty cam catches and BS7950 enhanced security or Secured by Design specification is available, catches only available in white, gold and chrome.
'Run through' decorative horn
Decorative Horns
Aesthetic optional extras available to mimic authentic timber sash window features – only available fitted to the bottom of the top sash. KAT UK’s premium Elegance sash windows are available with a choice of continuous ‘run through’ sash horns for an even more traditional look – alternatively a standard ‘plant on’ sash horn is also available. The continuous horn detail is created by running the jambs of the top sash through and end milling them, mechanically jointing in the bottom rail and finishing them by hand with a polish and a specially designed moulding.

Georgian bar - surface mounted

Ovolo Georgian bar (surface mounted)
Elegance VS authentic surface mounted Georgian bars are 20mm wide and are available with either an ovolo (standard) or a putty line/chamfered detail, aluminium spacer bars are used inside the glass unit. For a traditional timber look it is possible to have chamfered bars externally and ovolo bars internally for no extra charge – please specify clearly on your quote/order.
Glazed in sculptured Georgian bars are also available in either 18mm or 25mm widths, these are inside the glass unit only.

On our Elegance range the bottom sash base rail is 105mm in height and is sculptured.
Gasket Colour
Elegance VS have lowline black gaskets as standard – please choose white or black gasket colour.
Additional Cills
Designed to be face drained and to sit directly onto a stone or concrete sub-cill our sash windows have 85mm, 120mm, 160mm & 200mm cill assemblies available to go under the frame if required, only the 120/160/200mm can be welded for bay windows. Please note cills sit halfway toward front of frame with 30mm add-on supplied to sit under inside edge of sash window. Only 160mm cills are available in foiled finishes in the Elegance range (Cream/White Woodgrain, Light Oak/Irish Oak)
Coupled Elegance Vertical Sliding Sash Windows
Coupler
A 2mm PVCu ‘H’ section trim is available for fixing multiple frames together, they also require direct screw fixing to each other for strength (frames supplied separately).
Frame Extension
15mm, 30mm & 50mm add-ons are all available to build up frame width, ideal for check reveals. Specify which add-on and required size/quantity (depth of add-on is only 55mm so 2 no. required to build up front and back) also position on frame – overall sizes should include add-ons and cills, etc…
Elegance PVCu Sash Windows in Bay
Bay Assembly
A non-structural baypole is available in either 90°, 120° or 135° fixed angles, or alternatively a variable baypole assembly can be supplied – both come complete with trims to match your windows. Welded cills can be cut and welded to any angle as required.
Trickle Vent
Trickle vent option through top sash, also available in either a 30mm or 50mm add-on to the head of the frame.
