Nestled in the peace and tranquility of East Yorkshire lies Kilnwick Percy Golf Club. KP as it is known locally is a stunning 18 hole, par 70 course with exceptional panoramic views over the Yorkshire Wolds.

It is within this stunning environment that KP Living has been created with the development of twelve lodges being built as second homes. Set in some 400 acres of beautiful landscape with breath taking views reaching as far as York, the purpose built living accommodation was designed to create a safe place to spend time surrounded by beautiful woodland, picturesque lakes and varied wildlife.

The main contractors were keen to use locally sourced products and local companies to undertake the building work and with this in mind East Yorkshire Aluminium & Glass Ltd were selected to supply the windows and doors for the lodges. EYG in turn approached KAT UK market leader in supply of specialist sliding window and door products to make the Aluminium Bifold Doors to compliment their own windows. KAT UK, the UK’s leading supplier of readymade patio doors and vertical sliding sash windows, has recently completed a major window contract involving the supply of over 1200 of its ‘Elegance’ sliding sash windows to the national building contractor - Bramall Construction.

Bramall Construction’s Liverpool branch has used KAT UK’s WHS Halo, or ‘Elegance’ range of superior quality sash windows in a large refurbishment project for the Arena Housing Association in the Sefton Park area of Liverpool as part of the local council’s ongoing efforts to regenerate and revitalise the city. KAT UK are constantly striving to keep their products at the forefront of their markets by continuous product improvement, developments and investments in their staff and as a result were able to meet the exacting needs of the local authority.

“The conservation office at Liverpool Council instructed us to use KAT UK’s ‘Elegance’ sliding sash windows because they meet the conservation requirements of the area with their authentic look and excellent quality” said Danny Burns, Quantity Surveyor at Bramall Constructions Liverpool office."

“Liverpool Council have specified our ‘Elegance’ sash windows for refurbishment and new build work within the conservation areas of Liverpool due to the attention to detail that we and our system supplier WHS Halo put into producing and manufacturing these windows. The KAT ‘Elegance’ VS window has been designed to closely match Georgian timber sash windows in terms of sight lines and decorative features so is the ‘purrfect’ choice for replacement work, and yet it remains a beautiful and well performing window by modern standards so it can equally be used for new build developments” said Jim Kelleher, VS Product Manager for KAT UK, when asked to discuss the Sefton Park regeneration scheme."

The KAT UK ‘Elegance’ sash window allows housing associations to retain or re-instate the period detail and charm of their properties, while eliminating sticking sashes, draughts, rattles and the requirement to paint and maintain old wooden sash windows. The ‘Elegance’ VS is double glazed with low ‘e’ glass, has a triple chambered frame profile and is fitted with triple weather seals as standard to ensure that both the elements and any noises are kept out – all KAT VS comply with Building Regulations Document ‘L’ requirements. The windows can be fitted with a tilt facility as well as sliding up and down to allow for easy cleaning even from first floor level and above. Gold, chrome black or white window furniture is available, as are period touches like a deep bottom rail or decorative sash horns.

Bramall Construction’s Site Manager for the contract, Les Charlton, had this to say about the contract: “KAT provided us with around 50 windows per week for over 5 months and not only did the windows look superb but we also developed a very good working relationship with the firms personnel during this time. I'm pleased to say that all of our windows arrived on time and the whole contract ran very smoothly. We would certainly be very happy to work with the KAT team again!”

KAT recently supplied Elegance VS for this stunning Factors House in Lochinver, Highland Scotland. Andrew and Karen Stewart the owners of the property have a thriving business which consists of eight holiday lodges in the highlands. They have now decided to install KAT VS in their other properties.

The Factors House sits directly on Lochinver Bay, next stop Stornoway and the North Atlantic. A luxury development, for which KAT UK supplied 85 vertical sliding sash windows, has been honoured with a Town Pride Award ­ a civic award for outstanding development.

Walpole Heights at Cliftonville, Kent, was given the award by The Margate Civic Society, a registered charity founded in 1968 to encourage high standards of architecture and town planning. Such Town Pride awards are given annually to those buildings which have been refurbished, cleaned or modified to enhance the appearance of the town.

Property development company, Suburban Heights, converted a Georgian building into nine luxury apartments and obtained permission from conservation officers to replace its wooden box sash windows with KAT UK's Halo Elegance. KAT UK's Halo Elegance allows builders to retain the period detail and charm of a property, while eliminating rattles, draughts or the requirement to paint old wooden windows.
