We understand that you may be concerned about undertaking your first bi-fold installation so we are always at the end of the phone or email for help and advice.  For your first order you can even ask for one of our experts to come to site and advise while you carry out the installation (trade only).  KAT UK also has full-time dedicated service engineers working nationwide.

Thermal Efficiency

Our Aluminium door frames reduce heat loss from a building by using a polyamide bridge, or barrier, within the specially designed thermally broken aluminium section.  The polyamide material has very high heat- transfer resistance and acts as a barrier to heat transfer from the interior face of the frame to the outside.  Combined with double glazing (with options for energy-efficient glass) and efficient weather-sealing, aluminium bi-folding doors are thermally efficient and help to reduce heating costs.

Durability and Strength

The exceptional strength of aluminium allows it to support large areas of glass for maximum design options.   This also permits the use of slender frames to allow elegant, slim sightlines and maximum glass area.  There are no expansion or contraction issues and the frames are constructed in sections for optimum structural strength.

Range of Glazing Options

Supplied glazed or unglazed for your choice of glazing.  Frames take 28mm glazing as standard with the option to specify up to 32mm to take triple glazing or internal blinds.

Opening Options

Bifolding doors have the option of folding back internally or externally. It is possible to use only one or two doors for easy access, only opening the doors fully when required.  A wide choice of sash configurations is available such as opening in the centre like French doors, or from the side like an entrance door.

Security

Effective security is carefully addressed in the design of bi-folding doors.  High security multi-point locking mechanisms are fitted on opening sashes, shoot bolt locks and internal beading all make important contributions to the security of the doors.

Colours & Finishes

KAT Aluminium products are all available in a wide range of polyester powder coated paint colours and special finishes, including dual colour, realistic wood structure and metallic paint options. All paint finishes are produced to the highest standards and carry a 25 year paint finish guarantee.

Easy Low-Maintenance

Aluminium doors only require occasional wiping down with a soft cloth and soapy water.  The track should be checked for debris such as leaves or soil. No other user-maintenance is required.

Assembled or Dismantled

We assemble and check all our doors before they leave the factory.  You can opt for a fully assembled door delivered by our own careful drivers at a time and place of your choice.  If you are short of storage space, ask to have the frames dismantled and we will supply full assembly instructions. (Only recommended for trade customers).  If you are unfamiliar with door and window installation please discuss your requirements with us and we’ll do what we can to help

Handles

Our handles are available in black, white, silver anodised and chrome on both 5000 Smart and 9000 Beaufort.
