Aluminium Bifold Doors

KAT UK make only high-end bespoke aluminium products to customers’ individual specifications. KAT 9000 Aluminium Bifold Doors are the highest performing doors on the market in tests against wind, water and air pressure. (Severe weather tested to BS6375/ 1:2009).

The KAT 9000 system features a unique ‘pop-out’ handle. The handle lies flush with the door to provide a stylish smooth finish to the design.  Our Aluminium Bifold Doors have no floating mullion, allowing for slimmer sight lines. There is a choice of square or chamfered internal beading, and a sash width option of 1200mm.

Thermal Efficiency

Our Aluminium door frames reduce heat loss. They use a polyamide bridge, or barrier, within the specially designed thermally broken aluminium section.  Polyamide has very high heat-transfer resistance and acts as a barrier to heat transfer from the interior face of the frame to the outside.  Combined with double glazing (with options for energy-efficient glass) and efficient weather-sealing, aluminium bifold doors are thermally efficient and help to reduce heating costs.

Glazing Options

Supplied unglazed. The frames take 28mm glazing as standard or you can specify up to 32mm to suit triple glazing or internal blinds.

Opening Options

Aluminium Bifold Doors have the option of folding back internally or externally, with a wide choice of configurations.

Low Thresholds

Our standard threshold height is 54mm. Our optional low threshold is 34mm. If the door is to divide rooms internally, a very low ‘room divider’ track can be used at only 22mm high (not weathered).

Security

We use Winkhaus high security multi-point stainless steel locking mechanisms.  Shoot bolt locks and internal beading all make important contributions to the security of the doors.

Colours & Finishes

KAT Aluminium products are available in a huge range of polyester powder coated RAL paint colours and special finishes, including dual colour, natural-looking wood-grains and metallic paint options. All paint finishes carry a 25 year guarantee. Marine grade paint is also an option, ideal for coastal installations.
